Hey everyone! Mr McCallum here, coming to you from my bubble. So school has started back and it all seems a bit different but I'm still here working in our virtual library. I always try to make the library a fun place that you all want to come to and our virtual library is no different.
Over the next few weeks I'm going to be posting fun activities that you can do at home, some competitions that you can enter in your bubble (with a promise of prizes when we're all back in the physical library), and lots of great booky videos for you to enjoy.
One of the things I've been really enjoying during lockdown is learning how to draw lots of different book characters. There are heaps of great illustrators who are making 'how to draw' videos and I'll be sharing these on the blog soon.
What fun things have you been doing to keep yourself entertained during lockdown? You can comment below if you want to.

I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen
I came across this very cool puppet show of Jon Klassen's funny book, I Want My Hat Back on YouTube. It's performed by Little Angel Theatre in the UK and it made me and my family laugh-out-loud. Settle in and enjoy!
If you enjoyed this check out the Little Angel Theatre YouTube channel. They have some other readings and fun activities that you can do. My daughter and I made the origami 3 Little Pigs puppets and performed our own show. Super easy and a whole lot of fun!

Drawing with Sarah McIntyre
Sarah McIntyre is one of my favourite illustrators. She's the illustrator of Morris the Mankiest Monster and Grumpycorn and created The Legend of Kevin and Pugs of the Frozen North with author Philip Reeve. I've been learning how to draw some of her characters through the step-by-step instructions on her website and her #drawingwithsarah videos on YouTube.
Here are some of my versions of her characters:
If you want to have a go at drawing these go to Sarah McIntyre's website and click on the book that you want and you'll find the 'How to draw' instructions there. You can also check out Sarah's YouTube channel for her step-by-step drawing videos.
You can email me your drawings and I'll add them onto the blog.
